Eugene Nurse has offered a Delta Thickness Planer to put up for auction to raise some money for the Association.We are waiting on confirmation of the model but we believe it is a Model 22-580 which is a 13″ two-speed unit. It also comes with a stand with a mobile base.
The unit is well-used and in need of some repairs and maintenance. The blades are dull – if this is a 22-580, then the blades may be two-sided and the other side may not have been used and if so, they can be reversed. Otherwise you can order blades for this unit through eBay or Amazon. Because of limited tolerances, these blades typically cannot be re-ground and reinstalled on this model.
In addition, the tracking mechanism has some problems resulting in wood being skewed as it is fed in. This probably will require at least disassembly, an adjustment and possibly some replacement parts. If you are mechanically inclined and looking for a solid used planer, this could be a good opportunity.
