Challenges

A highlight of every AWA meeting is the monthly Show-and-Share when members present some of their own work.  This might include finished projects or works in progress, recent or brand new, small or large (really large projects are typically shared through projected images).   Sometimes, members will be stuck on a technique or a design challenge and will seek suggestions.  Other times, people might share hurdles they have overcome or present a do-over project that they have modified or started again with new strategies.

All projects are welcome.  You might take inspiration from a presenter and try something new – or return to an old favourite that you have not used for a while.  Each month, we also issue challenges to give you inspiration for a technique, tool or topic.   Some of our challenges are annual favourites, like the December toy challenge and the June 2×4 contest.  We combine the repeated ideas with new ones and mix it up a little each year.

Here are the challenges for 2019-2020 season.
